Have you ever considered that our bodies are just the temporary dwelling place of the immortal soul residing inside us all (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)?
This body, this tent, is a vessel carrying eternally precious cargo that can impact countless others for good or evil. It is this vessel that is charged, by God, to carry His word to the world. Therefore, what we do in this body is the outward expression of our inner man, that of our soul. Consider the impact of that reality and what it means for each of us.
What you and I do in this body that was entrusted to us, by its Creator, is giving a clear picture of who we really are. Does what you say and do align with what you believe at your core?
If we say we believe in God, and we claim to follow Him, we are stating that we are seeking to return this soul to Him after we’re done here; as such, we are affirming that while we’re here we are conducting ourselves in a holy and upright manner.
Does what your soul believes align with what your flesh does?
Sadly, sometimes what we know is rendered useless in our lives by our failure to act. What a high offense that is to our God, who gave us that knowledge of what is right and wrong, the capacity to tell the difference, and the ability to do something with it.
What will you do with the knowledge of the Risen Savior of mankind? If we truly believe, does it not demand action from now until we meet eternity (Matthew 28:18-20; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)?
Our soul will go where we are directing with these bodies God gave us, which path are we headed down with His property (Matthew 7:13-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)?
